QuakeMap should function well on your computer before you buy a Licence Key. If the program cannot connect or doesn't work, buying the License Key won't do you any good. Please resolve all issues with our friendly support first.
Please note: the blocks of grey associated with expiration of the trial
(after 20 days from the first use) are semi-transparent, randomly positioned
(every time the map is drawn they change location) and are labeled with the
word "Evaluation". These will go away when you unlock the program.
You may also observe "cottage cheese" tiles that come from Terraserver-usa.com
when there is no coverage for the area, or the "white-outs" that are typical
for classified areas (like military bases, Area-51 etc.). Yet another case is
"zone stitching" - on the border between the UTM zones you can only see one
zone mapped, and the other will be in "cottage cheese" until you click into it.
These effects are intrinsic to Terraserver-usa.com (the source of QuakeMap
aerial and topo coverage) and will not disappear with the purchase of the
license. Let us know (support@quakemap.com) what area are you trying to
view (coordinates of the center of the map and Camera altitude), and we will be
happy to check it out.
1. please complete your order through eMetrix, supply payment information to their secure server (uncheck the "Registration Backup Service" box to save $5).
2. you will receive an email with your License Key shortly (within 10 minutes; check your spam filter).
3. use the License Key to unlock QuakeMap (just enter it on the Help-->License menu)
4. the License Key will NOT be required for regular updates. Please keep it in a safe place in case you need to reinstall QuakeMap from scratch.
